Dear Valued For-de Group Retailer,
Attached below is the current (Dealer / retailer) process for a claim on a faulty battery against the
manufacturer:

Many Scooters and Powerchairs are supplied with OEM batteries.
These batteries include a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
Also available are replacement batteries.
These are Branded: Dry Power , ScooterXtras Batteries and MK Batteries.
All these batteries include a 12 month manufacturer warranty.
For-de Group Pty Ltd warrants that the batteries will be free from defects under normal use, for a period of twelve (12)
months from the date of purchase.
For-de Group Pty Ltd will repair or replace, at our option, free of charge any part found upon examination by For-de
Group Pty Ltd to be defective in material and/or workmanship within the warranty period.
For all completed and approved warranty claims For-de Group Pty Ltd will send replacement batteries of the same
brand, type and capacity as replacements.
Replacement batteries will always be supplied as pairs to ensure the scooter operates at the optimal capacity of 24 volts.
Replacement batteries are shipped from the warehouse on Tuesdays and Fridays unless the retailer has the capacity to
collect replacements locally in Malaga WA.
Standard shipping cutoffs and time frames apply.
When replacement batteries are supplied the remainder of the warranty period applies to these replacement batteries.
They should be used as direct replacements for the batteries that have failed and will be marked with a batch code
referring to the remainder of the warranty.
If replacement batteries cannot be supplied that are within the same specification to the original equipment
manufacturer battery a credit will be applied to the dealer’s account. The dealer will be notified within 1 working day if
O.E.M batteries cannot be supplied, and a credit will be applied.
This will give the dealer the opportunity to source an alternative for their customer.
Replacement batteries will be freighted to the original purchaser of the batteries (retailer) at For-de Group Pty’s
Expense.
The dealer is responsible for all freight to return the faulty batteries to For-de Group Pty for testing if they cannot
provide testing in the required format and need the batteries tested by For-de Group or the manufacturer.
Freight free options #1 OR #2 are available below if the correct testing results can be provided.

For-de Group Pty Ltd understands that due to cost of freight the defective batteries that are not local to For- de Group Pty Ltd do not need to be returned if a claim is submitted as per option #1 OR option #2 below with the manufacturer required test standards. For tested by For-de Group freight is payable by the retailer. Batteries are tested at the workshop in the Perth Location Only.

Please note that For-de Group Pty may on occasion request faulty batteries back to verify test results – on these occasions For-de Group will pay 3rd party the freight costs.


OPTION 1- TESTED BY RETAILER WITH SCOOTER XTRA TESTER

OPTION 2 – TESTED BY RETAILER WITH A COMPARABLE TESTER

  • Supply clear pictures of the top of the two batteries showing the hand engraved batch codes and any other supplier markings including the stamped manufacture
  • Supply test reports from a comparable battery test unit that shows that the battery failed capacity when being discharged at a 10 amp load down to 5V. (2 tests are required).
  • The comparable test device should have the capacity to produce a report clearly showing the discharge curve and the pass or fail results based on the table below when each battery is discharged with a 10 amp load down to 5 Volts.
  • Include a completed warranty request (Click Link).
  • Ensure batteries are fully charged prior to testing.
  • Provide as much support information as possible for the manufacturer include the type and size of charger being used.


To maintain and prolong battery life the manufacturer recommends that all deep cycle batteries are FULLY charged on a regular basis and that during scheduled servicing the batteries are rotated between left and right sides of the scooter in the battery enclosure to maintain balanced charging.

Please also ensure that the charger is correct capacity for your scooter batteries. ie. XT75G batteries require a charger that is larger than 8amps.
